🎯 Business, Babies & Balance — The Real Hustle
Let’s talk about the buzzword everyone throws around but rarely explains: balance.
Especially when you’re a mom and an entrepreneur, people love to ask,
“How do you balance it all?”
Spoiler alert: I don’t. Not perfectly, anyway.
And that’s okay.
Running a business and raising a family isn’t about doing it all — it’s about doing what matters most in the moment.
Sometimes that means staying up late to meet a deadline.
Sometimes it means leaving that email on read because your kid has a school concert.
And sometimes it means doing both — exhausted, but fueled by purpose.
Where It Really Started
I didn’t always picture myself as a business owner.
I started my career in restaurants, kitchens, insurance offices, and even an oilfield company — all while juggling life as a young mom. Each role taught me something different:
- How to lead a team
- How to communicate clearly
- How to adapt quickly
- And most importantly — how to believe in myself even when I was outside of my comfort zone
But once I found my groove in marketing and media — especially helping my dad’s business grow — something clicked.
I realized I didn’t just want to work for someone else’s dream anymore.
I wanted to build my own.
Red Flare Media was born from that spark — between naps, night feeds, and sports practices. It didn’t happen in a boardroom or with a perfect plan. It happened in real life, with real chaos and real commitment.
The Myth of “Having It All Together”
Let’s get honest:
There’s no such thing as having it all together all the time.
Yes, I run my own business.
Yes, I freelance.
Yes, I work full-time.
Yes, I raise two boys — and show up for school events, practices, sick days, and everything in between.
But I also drink cold coffee more often than I’d like to admit.
I’ve sent emails with typos.
I’ve missed calls because life got loud.
And I’ve had days where I wondered, “Can I actually do this?”
The answer? Yes. But not alone.
I’ve built what I have thanks to grit, late nights, and an incredible support system — my friends, my family, and my boys. They’re the reason I keep going. They’re my why.
To Every Mom With a Dream
If you’re reading this and wondering if it’s possible — if you can raise your kids, run a business, and not completely lose yourself in the process — let me say this loud and clear:
You already are.
Every time you choose to bet on yourself, show up (even tired), and push forward despite the noise, you’re doing the work.
You’re not behind. You’re not failing.
You’re building something powerful — something your kids will be proud of.
So stop aiming for perfect balance.
Aim for what works for you and your family.
Some days it’ll look like success.
Some days it’ll look like survival.
But every day, it’s proof that you are doing something bold, something badass, and something beautiful.
From my chaotic, caffeine-fueled desk to yours —
You’ve got this, mama.
